Research and innovation
Many research projects are executed by ALPINE in cooperation with its customers such as ÖBB, ASFINAG, Wiener Linien or Brenner Eisenbahngesellschaft (BEG).
Currently, ALPINE works on these research projects:
- Prestressed arch bridge without sealing and roadbed
- Recycling of material excavated in tunnelling (possible fields of application)
- Controlling consistency (stability) of soft concrete
- Mounting of concrete slabs by plain bearing
Expert opinions in case of damage
In case of damage, ALPINE provides expert opinions for legal or equitable actions on construction and building materials. Customers can draw on experts for concrete, asphalt, bitumen and cement-bonded building material.
Involvement in the creation of standards and guidelines
Standards and guidelines ensure quality assurance, compatibility and safety. The ATM Department plays an important role in the development and improvement of ÖNORMEN, ÖVBB, RVS and DIN standards, thereby setting standards according to the latest technical findings.
Continuing education
Continuing education focuses on internal courses and seminars. Our theory courses cover the use of standards and guidelines or deal with specialist subjects such as concrete technology for civil engineering and tunnelling or asphalt technology.
Practical courses are held right at the construction site and teach knowledge on the use and processing of building material as realistically as possible. Additionally, seminars on laboratory tests are provided which in turn is part of quality control. The advantage of this approach is that employees gain a holistic understanding of processes and their legal background which results in a reduction of accidents.
The Concrete Academy also provides basic training, expert and management courses and specialist seminars.
