ALPINE’s department for resources and material provisioning (Abteilung Rohstoffgewinnung und Baustofferzeugung, ARB for short) works across the entire group and serves as a service and information centre and as contact point. In essence it is divided into the divisions resource management, bitumen trading, technology management and information management. First and foremost it operates asphalt mixing plants, quarries, gravel pits, concrete mixing plants, recycling plants and a brickyard.

Resource management
ARB is the basis for expansion, strategies, developments, restructuring, modernisations, improved use of resources, creation of synergies, for avoiding errors and promoting innovations and the collection and distribution of know-how. The objective is to improve the technical and economical performance level, to source, obtain and to find out about material resources in existing and particularly in new markets.
Securing resources (rock, cement, bitumen, recycling material etc.) is of immense importance in order to remain self-contained, economically independent and for expansion. The knowledge contained in this division is exchanged through assisting in the creation of standards, cooperation in committees, seminars and developments inside and outside of the group.
