During the expansion of the U1 subway line from Kagran station to Leopoldau, Wiener Linien called for tenders to build the subway track. We submitted the lowest bid and were awarded the contract for the Kagraner Platz contract section under a joint venture with Petri Bahnbau. Construction commenced in April 2004.
The U1 / 1 “Kagraner Platz” contract section at Dr. Adolf Schärf Platz connects to the current U1 “Kagran” terminal and has a total length of ~ 1.200 m. The facility conditions and routing are designed for a speed of 80 KPH. The route leads to Prandauergasse and into Anton Sattler Gasse, descending in maximum downward gradient of 40%, passing under Steigenteschgasse. Afterwards, the underground route turns at the sports field and playground towards Meissnergasse, passes under the residential area, Schrickgasse and St. Wendelinplatz. At this point it reaches the subway station, parallel to Wagramer Strasse, starting below the local network 139 / Donaufelderstrasse 254 and ending in Doningasse (= end of contract section).
