The construction section U2/2 “Taborstraße” connects the existing tube station U1 Praterstern and U2/U4 Schottenring and has a total length of about 1.250 m. The construction and roadway have been designed for a speed of 80 km/h. The route starts at the station Schottenring, located below the Danube channel. In separate tubes it leads to the station Taborstraße, located at the centre of this construction section. It features interior platforms on the sides of the tube.
Behind the station the tube leads in a turn to turnout shaft Heinestraße. It serves as a supply shaft, connects the dual track, contains two exterior turns, a single turnout and a crossing. This section of the tube goes below and crosses the existing tube U1 and continues to go deeper until it reaches its deepest point which also is the end of the contract section.
