Borouge, a leading supplier of high-quality plastics, has commissioned ALPINE with construction of the Borouge 3 expansion project. As the main contractor, ALPINE is responsible for the construction of 24 units, comprising office buildings, production and storage facilities, in Ruwais/Abu Dhabi.
The Borouge 3 mega-project will increase the total production capacity of the petrochemical plant by 2.5 million tonnes by 2014 to an annual figure of 4.5 million tonnes of polyolefins. Borouge is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), one of the world’s largest oil companies, and the Austrian company Borealis, a leading supplier of high-quality plastics.
Projekt description
- 24 units and warehouses, of which 5 units are conventional buildings, 11 steel constructions, 4 combined plants and 4 are warehouses.
- The project also comprises a central HVAC system (Heating/Ventilation and Air Conditioning) and an electricity substation.
