The demolition of the old, outdated Bergisel facility on March 25, 2001 paved the way for a new, highly modern sports facility with a 48-meter tower, allowing the world’s best ski jumpers to reach distances of up to 130 meters. A sensationally new flight experience, state of the art technology and safety for the jumpers makes the facility more attractive than ever for spectators, earning the right to call itself a new landmark in the city of Innsbruck.
The Bergisel jump is a FIS competition site and at the same time a year-round training centre as a matt jump.
