As part of a joint venture with Belbadi Contracting ALPINE constructs a cricket stadium at Dubai Sports City. This is yet another world-class sports arena constructed by ALPINE. The stadium meets the most demanding requirements of modern construction technology. Additionally, its unique roof construction and 25,000 seats make it a visual landmark of Dubai.

Internationally renowned architects Gerkan, Marg und Partner (seated in Germany) have designed the Dubai Cricket Stadium. They also have planned the new Berlin Olympic Stadium and the Commerzbank Stadium in Frankfurt. The Dubai Cricket Stadium with exterior facilities was completed on time for the opening match on April 22, 2009.

Special features
The roof structure has a cross-vaulted-style design. Trussed beams have been covered with a PTFE-coated membrane. The construction covers all seating of the arena and provides protection from sun and wind. The roof pitch has been adjusted to the applicable ICC standards. 82 seats for sport journalists and 7 boxes for commentators meet the requirements of today’s media.
