Project Y (PPP-Ostregion, Package 1) is the largest street-infrastructure project of its kind in Austria. On 12.12.2006 the contract was assigned by ASFINAG via Bonaventura Straßenerrichtungs-GmbH to the (executing) consortium ARGE PPP – Ostregion (Eastern Region) and to subcontracted companies (tunnelling, engineering, earth work, road construction) and FOEs. About 1,400 employees will work on-site during the construction period. 300 employees will work on the construction of the relevant contract section “earth work and road construction” by ALPINE Bau GmbH (technical management) and Hochtief Construction AG (administrative management). About 200 earthwork and road construction vehicles and 200 transportation vehicles will be used to move a total of 10,300,000 m³ earth, to construct a ca. 167 km long drainage line and to subsequently build the pavement and do the civil engineering work. An asphalt mixing plant (with a daily output of 1,500 tons to 2,000 tons) is available for the construction of the asphalt cover. The company ARGE Mischgut (consisting of ALPINE Bau GMBH – 2/3 shares – and HOCHTIEF Construction AG – 1/3 shares) executes this project. The company Österreichische Betondecken Arge (ALPINE – HABAU – TEERAG ASDAG) constructs the concrete road surface and in-situ-concrete guide wall. The noise barrier is constructed for the most part by ALPINE. Landscaping, road marking and signage has been subcontracted.
