1965
The family Pappas founds the company ALPINE.
The construction equipment business employs 28 people.
1968
A 24-year-old Dietmar Aluta-Oltyan becomes an executive at ALPINE. The company is eleven million Schillings (ca. € 800,000) in debt.
1972
Dietmar Aluta-Oltyan becomes MD. For the first time, ALPINE wins large contracts and begins to expand. The number of employees increases to 200. With its headquarters in Salzburg the company establishes subsidiaries in all federal states.
1976
ALPINE is awarded a contract to build a part of the Tauern motorway. The company now operates with subsidiaries across Austria and start to seek contracts abroad.
1979
ALPINE wins a contract to build the nuclear power plant Nußdorf am Inn in Germany.
1982
One of the first large-scale projects outside Germany and Austria is the construction of the power plant “Potamos Nestos” north of the Greek city of Kavala.
1985
Dietmar Aluta-Oltyan recognizes that further success not only requires organic growth but also acquisitions. The first step in this direction is taking over the construction company Montana. By now ALPINE is trading with Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Romania, Bosnia, Macedonia and China.
1986
Smaller construction companies are now also being taken over, among them Kapsreiter and Heuberger. In the 80s Dietmar Aluta-Oltyan obtained a holding in ALPINE.
1989
Expansion abroad begins with the foundation of a subsidiary in Munich.
1996
Takeover of Mayreder Bau GmbH.
1998
Takeover of Ferro-Betonit-Werke AG.
2000
Fusion of ALPINE Bauges.m.b.H and Mayreder Bau GmbH into ALPINE Mayreder Bau GmbH.
2002
Takeover of Universale Bau GmbH.
2005
Takeover of Stump Spezialtiefbau GmbH and thus doubling its foundation engineering capacity.
2006
The majority of shares in ALPINE Mayreder Bau GmbH is obtained by the Spanish company FCC (Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas).
As part of the Bonaventura-consortium ALPINE wins the contract for the first PPP motorway project with a volume of Euro 933 million.
2007
“ALPINE Mayreder Bau GmbH” is renamed into “ALPINE Bau GmbH”.
