ALPINE works since autumn 2007 on the Danube bridge at Traismauer. It is the heart of a new road link between the Kremser dual carriageway S 33 and Stockerauer dual carriageway S 5. The contract section covers the Danube bridge itself and two foreshore bridges north and south of the river – a section of more than one kilometre in length.
The new Danube bridge at Traismauer improves accessibility of Central Lower Austria and part of the so called Regional-Ring-North. It provides an efficient axis between Stockerauer dual carriageway S 5 and the Kremser dual carriageway S 33 and leads to the Westautobahn A1 (motorway).
