ALPINE joined in the “Long Night of Research,“ during which 54 projects in the field of science and research were presented. A container was placed at the disposal of Klagenfurt’s Alpen-Adria University for an impressive experiment. In imitation of popular reality shows on TV such as Big Brother, girls selected from among the visitors answered questions on various topics in Container 2. The discussion in the container was followed by onlookers from the cameraman’s perspective and via TV broadcast on a screen set up in the University of Klagenfurt’s auditorium. The experiment demonstrated the difference in the girls’ behavior when they thought they were being filmed compared to when they did not feel they were being watched.
The container was called “Little Sister“ and was a complete success. After the experiment visitors were encouraged to try their skills as journalists and write an article on the experience to be published by a local newspaper.
“It was interesting for ALPINE to take part in the Long Night of Research,“ says Karl Gruber, managing director of ALPINE Bau GmbH, who also plans to support projects in the field of science and research in the future.
